If you answered ‘yes’ to these questions, our Canadian Red Cross-certified Wilderness First Aid Instructor (WFAI) Training Program might be for you!
WFAI Prerequisites
Required
Unexpired Canadian Red Cross Remote First Aid, Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder certification.
Wilderness First Aid skills assessment, supervised and signed by a CRC wilderness first aid instructor, instructor trainer, or teaching experience supervisor. (If required, contact us to arrange a skills assessment.)
Recommended
Certification at least one level higher than the course you intend to teach.
Experience in a professional role that includes leadership and provision of medical care, such as outdoor guide, outdoor activity instructor, search and rescue, ski patrol, or professional responder.

Pre-course preparation, advice and coaching from your instructor trainer.
2-day Red Cross Fundamentals of Instruction training.
2 day Red Cross Wilderness First Aid discipline-specific Instructor training.
All learner materials and equipment.
Access to Coast Wilderness Medical Training lesson plans.
One supervised teaching experience. (Required for completion of your certification.)
Location and Schedule
Classroom (inc. Day 1): 8168 Granville Street, Unit 209, Vancouver BC.
Outdoor: Pacific Spirit Park (Exact location TBD)
